CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: SQIP 2026

​

"Narrating the Needs of Our Time: Inquiries of Hope, Connection, and Possibility"

 

The Society for Qualitative Inquiry in Psychology (SQIP) is excited to open submissions for its upcoming annual meeting, scheduled for July 17th-18th, 2026, at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA.

 

We warmly invite students, faculty, researchers, and practitioners to submit their proposals for our annual conference. The theme of our conference will be Narrating the Needs of Our Time: Inquiries of Hope, Connection, and Possibility. We welcome submissions from all areas of qualitative psychology that are broadly related to this overarching theme. We are excited to have Professor Sara McClelland (University of Michigan) and Professor Joseph Gone (Harvard University) as our two keynote speakers.

 The conference will feature four different presentation formats: 

  1. Symposium (75 mins)

    1. Requires an overall symposium abstract (up to 250 words), names and affiliations of all authors for each talk (3 speakers per symposium), abstracts for each talk (up to 250 words), and 3-5 keywords.

  2. Individual paper submission (15-20 mins) 

    1. Requires names and affiliations of all authors, an abstract (up to 250 words), and 3-5 keywords.

  3. Poster submission: 

    1. Requires an abstract (up to 250 words), names of all authors, and 3-5 keywords.

  4. Roundtable discussion (60 mins)

    1. Requires an abstract (up to 250 words), all names of all speakers, and 3-5 keywords. 

 

For posters, we encourage submissions to be exploratory and/or ideas in development.

 

For all presentations, we encourage specific mention of how the presenter(s) will engage the audience in the program.

Acknowledgment of the receipt of your submission will be sent by e-mail to the corresponding author. Program Committee decisions are expected to be sent by the end of February 2026. 

 

SQIP 2026 CONFERENCE EARLY BIRD RATES 
Professional: $280* (includes meals, reception)
Professional SQIP Member: $225 (includes meals, reception)
Students: $75 (includes meals, reception)

We will be offering a select number of scholarships to support students and early career 

 

Note: Professionals save $50 by signing up to be a member of SQIP at registration!
